Indian national held with gold bars remanded
An Indian national arrested with 12.3 kg gold worth about Tk 6.15 crore from Shahjalal International Airport early Thursday was placed on a four-day remand.

Said  General Recording Officer Monir Uddin Mondal.Metropolitan Magistrate Amirul Haider Choudhury passed the order as the Sub-Inspector Md Asahduzzaman, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced him before the court with a plea to grant a ten-day remand for interrogation.

A team of Customs Preventive Department arrested the Indian named Arshad Ayaz at Shahjalal International Airport early Thursday.

Tipped off, the team challenged Arshad while crossing the green channel of the airport around 1 am and recovered 22 gold bars worth Tk 6.15 crore kept in his waist wrapped with white scotch tape.
