Air Asia will operate flights from Sylhet
The world\'s leading budget airline Airlines Air Asia will operate flights to Sylhet-Malaysia. For this, Air Asia\'s Passenger Sales Agent (PSA) has been launched in Sylhet. Currently the airline operates flights to Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur the airlines said in a press release on Thursday.

In this context, Chairman of Total Air Service Limited (GSA), Air Asia Limited, K M Mozibul Hoque said that Bangladesh is moving forward in the aviation sector. Air Asia is cordial to increase the passenger services in Bangladesh. Executive Chairman of Air Asia Datuk Kamaruddin Miranun has visited Bangladesh to verify the feasibility of increasing the program. He inaugurated Sylhet Passenger Sales Agent (PSA) of Air Asia on Sunday at Joy Tower, Sylhet\'s Jail Road area.

Air Asia Executive Chairman Datuk Kamaruddin reached the Osmani International Airport in Sylhet from Malaysia on his own jet plane with his family for commencing Sylhet’s office. Before the inauguration of the Sylhet office, he visited the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA).

Datuk Kamaruddin Miranun said at the inauguration ceremony of the Sylhet Passenger Sales Agent Office, that the business of Air Asia is being successfully managed in Bangladesh. It has the opportunity to expand its coverage. Already I have traveled to Chittagong and Sylhet. We have tested the possibility of the launch of Air Asia flights from this two city. Especially, Malaysia plans to launch Sylhet flight in the coming days. Chairman of GSA Total Air Service of Air Asia Bangladesh K M Mozibul Hoque and CEO Morshedul Alam Chakladar were also present on the occasion. Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Khandaker Shiper Ahmed has been given the responsibility of Air Asia\'s Sylhet Agent.

Note that, Air Asia operates 130 destinations across Asia Pacific. After the operation in 2001, 400 million passengers were transported.
