Md. Murshedul Kabir joined as Managing Director and CEO of Agrani Bank Limited. Before joining Agrani Bank Limited, he served as Deputy Managing Director of Sonali Bank Limited with reputation and success. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Managing Director and General Manager of Janata Bank Limited.

Md. Murshedul Kabir started his career as a senior officer of Janata Bank Limited on 23 February 1988 after being appointed by the Bankers Recruitment Committee, Bangladesh Bank. He was working in Janata Bank for more than 33 years. In his illustrious career, he has held various responsibilities as branch manager, regional head, department head and head of various departments of the head office. He was promoted as Deputy Managing Director in Janata Bank in October 2020. On October 27, 2020, he was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of Sonali Bank Limited by the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance. While working in Sonali Bank Limited, he held the additional responsibilities of CEO and Managing Director along with other important responsibilities including Head of Credit, Head of HR.

In his illustrious banking career spanning 34 years, he has been involved in General Banking, Fund Management, Foreign Trade and Financing, Project Finance, Industrial Credit, Micro Credit, Business Development, Market Management, Strategic Risk Management, Human Resource Management, Rural Banking, SME Banking, Wholesale Banking and performs important responsibilities in various areas including operations management.

Mr. Kabir completed his Masters (MSS) degree in Economics from Dhaka University. He also completed MBA degree in Human Resource Management. He is a Diplomate Associate of Institute of Bankers Bangladesh. He has participated in various training workshops and seminars held in the country and abroad.

Mr. Kabir was ex-officio director of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited and Sonali Investment Limited. He also served as director of Keru & Co. (Bangladesh) Limited, Platinum Jubilee Jute Mill Limited and Jeshore Jute Mill Limited.

Mr. Kabir is a Life Member of Bangladesh Economic Association. He is an internationally rated chess player and a member of the Association of Chess Players, Bangladesh.
