As of mid-December 2025, Middle Eastern low-cost carrier Air Arabia will serve a daily link between Sharjah and Munich.
The new route will enable the German hub to “expand travel options for passengers and further strengthen its role in traffic to and from the Gulf states,” revealed Oliver Dersch, Munich Airport’s Senior Vice President Aviation.
Munich will be the first destination in Germany to which the Middle Eastern carrier will offer scheduled flights from Sharjah. The service will be operated on an Airbus A320neo.
The capital of the emirate after which it is named, Sharjah is also a convenient alternative airport for those visiting Dubai. As a hub for Air Arabia, it also offers multiple connections to “many other exciting destinations in the Middle East and Asia.”
Air Arabia’s new link follows hot on the heels of Royal Air Maroc announcing last week that it will resume its nonstop service between Munich and Casablanca. From 20 October, the Moroccan flag carrier will operate the route twice a week on a Boeing 737-800.
The connection to RAM’s hub in Casablanca will allow for seamless onwards connections across the carrier’s African network where it serves cities across Morocco as well as to Gambia, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and Ivory Coast. |
