NRBC Bank PLC and Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) have awarded scholarships to the children of deceased journalists to support their education.

The children of 30 deceased DRU members will each receive an annual scholarship of Tk 36,000, with payments of Tk 3,000 per month.

Sheikh Bashir Uddin, adviser to the Ministry of Commerce, Textiles, and Jute, presented the scholarship cheque as the chief guest at a ceremony held at the DRU office on Saturday.

NRBC Bank Director and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee, AKM Mostafizur Rahman, Managing Director (Current Charge), Md. Rabiul Islam, DRU President Syed Shukkur Ali Shuvo, General Secretary Mohi Uddin, Welfare Secretary Tanvir Ahmed, and Joint Secretary Md. Mizanur Rahman were present at the time, among others.
